Hello, Drummers!
We want you to help us celebrate the 30th anniversary of the filming of JUMANJI, the 1995 classic starring Robin Williams, shot in and around Keene NH.
Our weekend of events will occur Friday night, June 20-Sunday, June 22 in downtown Keene.
We are inviting drummers from everywhere to join the festivities throughout the weekend and Roll the Dice with us!
Our idea is this:
Friday night, 6/20 – free red carpet film event at the Colonial Theatre, 95 Main St, Keene
Drumming from 5-6:45 outside on sidewalk and in front of theatre, weather permitting.
Drummers will show up to welcome patrons with the Jumanji beat:
Drummers will march down the aisles of the Colonial beginning at 6:30 to welcome the audience for opening ceremonies, 6:45-7:30.
Stay for film if you wish with VIP seating.
Saturday, 6/21 – events held all day long outside so whenever drummers arrive is fine with us, find a spot in Central Square, on sidewalks between 10am-5pm.
The idea is to have the drumbeat in the background all day long – improv/dancing/creative engagement welcome.
Stay as long as you wish.
Sunday, 6/22 – closing ceremony in Central Square at 4pm, so drumming from 3-4pm or earlier as downtown vendors will still be available and stores will be open.
This is not a paid gig but an invitation to be part of a once-only event in downtown Keene that will have tremendous press coverage from throughout New England.
We can offer you merch!
Rather than try to map out specific times, places, people, we are simply opening it up to any drummers who would like to participate in the experience without a lot of constraints.
Stay for two hours or all day.
We ask that you check in at the main tent which will be readily visible to let us know you’ve arrived and answer any questions you may have.
